This isn't entirely related to TCS, but I'd appreciate any input or advice..

My son sold me his digital camera when he came to visit from Wisconsin, but I'm having problems loading the pix from it onto Photobucket so I can upload pix from there to here. It's taking a looong time to upload them. Are digital camera pix a lot bigger in size??
I'm not having any problems loading discs that I got from Wal-Mart, and before the computer crashed, I wasn't having any problems uploading pix that I had scanned, either..

The resolution on your camera might be set too high. Try setting a medium or low resolution, and see if that makes it easier to upload.

You could also resize, using something like irfanview.com, and upload the resized photos to Photobucket. I've found that the easiest route to go.

Well now I'm completely lost, b/c I don't know anything about all that technical stuff..
I reckon if I play around w/ it for awhile, I may be able to figure it out..

But thanks for replying, Jcat!

Somewhere on your digital camera, it probably says, "7MP" or some such thing. That is 7 megapixels, which is a pretty large photo, but pretty good quality.

If you just want to put a few on Photobucket to link to here, you can resize them youself. As another responder said, irfanview (irfanview.com) is a free picture viewer that is small, elegant, and powerful. Microsoft also has a batch resizer amongst their power tools. You want to get the pictures down to about 640 x 480, give or take.

Thanks, Mr.Blanche.
I'll probably figure it all out after I play around with it for awhile. That's usually how I figure out any technical stuff -- practice makes perfect, y'know..
