I have been feeding my kitties Nutro Natural Choice food, but they seemed bored so today I did a thorough inspection of everything at the pet store. I decided to buy a small bag of Blue Spa Selects to see how that goes over with the kitties. I debated between Blue Spa Selects, Royal Canin and their normal Nutro Natural Choice. I would appreciate any input about what you all feed your cats (though I've read several threads about that), or some more knowledgeable input about the pros and cons of these specific foods and advice regarding which is this best choice. Thanks!

BLue spa has the MOST carbs and grains... it is a good food but overall I would not feed it

all are good foods.. just depends .. what you want .. some want whole grains( ie cant get it as cats dont need grains and digest part of grain way better)... some want less shedding... some want fancy things like green tea

Interesting about the carbs and grains. It certainly wasn't my intention to increase that in their diets, although I don't really know how that plays into the health of my cats - should I choose something else? What I'm looking for is simply the best food I can feed my kitties for their long-term health. Kluchetta, I feed them a small amount of wet food each night, usually the nutro natural choice or avoderm. They really enjoy wet food (when I'm getting ready to feed them it's the only time Evie ever meows, she's so excited!), but they will only eat a small amount (1/8-1/6 of a can) at a time and I don't want to leave it out for a long time.

Also stay away from the Royal Canin, it is full of corn, corn gluten, and wheat!

Another good dry food brand to feed them is Natural Balance and Wellness, although canned/wet is better.

for most they do not have to worry about the glutens or corn or wheat... did you know next to WHITE rice Wheat is the most digested grain???
