So I seen an ad on CL for kittens. Something intrigued me to call about them. The lady said they were 10 weeks old, litter trained, all that good stuff. But something told me that something wasn't right.
So I asked for her address to come by and see them.
When I got there, they had animals EVERYWHERE!

Pitbulls with puppies running around and pregnant with ANOTHER litter, different birds in numerous cages, even a peacock running around.

Well I asked where the kittens where and they took me to the back of thier feces filled yard and pointed to a cage.

Inside was a sweet momma kitty with 4 tiny kittens

One was solid gray, 2 gray and white and 1 black and white.
They didn't have any food, water or shade from the sun and poor momma was solid black
The lady put baby powder on the poor things to keep fleas off of them

After assessing the situation for about......2 seconds I decided to take them all!!!!!!

When I got home with them I called my neighbor who is also a cat lover, and told her to come over ASAP!
She grabbed 2 of the kittens (gray and white ones) and took them to her house.
All 4 of the kittens have been bathed, fed and have an appointment to see the vet tomorrow morning.
I have 2 at my house and she has 2 at her house.

I just couldn't believe the conditions the poor things were in!!!!

I tried to talk them into letting me have momma kitty but they wouldn't let me

They told me she's had 9 litters and she's only 5 years old

I really wanted to take her!!!!

So I'm pondering calling Animal Services on them because the living conditions are unbelievable!!!!!!!

I will have pictures of the little squirts later when I get home though.

I wish you could have gotten the Momma, she's probably sad right now too
I know she is
She was so sweet. She was purring and rubbing against the cage. I could tell these kittens were way too young to be taken away but I figured if I didn't take them then they may end up with someone who doesn't care.
They also told me they keep her in that cage when she goes into heat

I would say they're 5-6 weeks old.. They are a tiny bit feral too.
When I put my hand close to the cage they would hiss at me and try to run away but once I was holding them they were fine.
You can tell they haven't been handled much if any at all!

I had 2 of them held against my chest and they were purring away and going to sleep

They were flea infested too! It worries me that one of them may be anemic from all the fleas

Their eyes and noses were clear though so that's a good sign

Good for you saving those poor sweet kittens. Too bad for that sweet Momma kitty.

& No Pondering about it. You have her address, you saw all you needed to see to call Animal Services. That person will have every animal in her home taken away & hopefully will never be able to own another animal ever again.

I think you ought to call the animal services, who knows what kind of diseases and horrible things are lurking there, and on the positive side, if they did go round and seize the animals from the owners, then they would all get new clean homes!

Hope everything goes well for you and the babies!

Yes, our little guy was severely anemic, he had to have a blood transfusion, Check their gums and see if they are white

There were alot of things that they said that doesn't make sense to me. They back peddled on alot of things. I know they probably think I was being rude or harsh but I was really upset about how they were being kept

My neighbor checked thier gums and they're pink.. so that's a good sign

But I think they may have worms
Thier little tummies are round and tight. It could be worms or the food they were feeding them. THey told me it was "Just hard cat food"

for you for taking all the little ones, to bad you couldn't get momma too. Maybe if they take all the animals, you could ask for momma too?

As soon as I hear from Animal Services I will let you all know

Well, the little boogers had dinner... or should I say dinner had them?
They had it EVERYWHERE

I had to give them another bath. Which definatly didn't hurt them.
I got most of the fleas off them this time..

The poor little things were infested with them
And when I gave them a bath this moring the water was brown/red.
I wish I had taken pictures to show the animal officers. But at the time I was just in a rush to clean them up.
They're both snuggled in a towel with my son in his room.
I'm charging the batteries on the camera right now so hopefully I will have pics of them soon

Uggg, all that flea dirt
Those poor babies

I have been giving Pepino, KMR from a dropper since he came here, because I have no idea how long he'd been without his Mom
I'm sure I'm spoiling him
He eats wet food too, but he doesn't make a mess

I bet the boys are so excited

Waiting for pics

Great job on taking/rescuing all the kittens!! Did you have to pay for them??

I am glad animal control/services will investigate and I do urge you to follow up to make sure they do so. These type of people do not deserve to every own animals.

Glad that the kittens are doing ok and survived the baths!! How do the boys like them??
