Are you going on a vacation this year and where are you going?

I'm taking a week off at the end of May. I plan on spending a few days at home doing nothing, then I'm going back to Maryland for my sis-in-law's college graduation.

We sure are!!
Next week, we are going to Greece (Athens) for 6 days.
In July, we are coming to....... the USA!!!! We will be visiting some national Parcs and nice cities in California, Utah, Arizona (may be more)! We will be there for 3 weeks!

I am really looking forward to this July-trip. We lived in the USA from '83-->'85, and now we want to show USA's natural beauty to our kids!!

Maybe Vegas withing the next few months and definately the cottage at some point this summer. I haven't had my vacation requests approved by work yet.

I'm going to be in Nebraska May 1st, through the 9th (or something like that) to see my family.

Then, I'm also flying to Ohio in August to meet a friend and go to the Michigan International Speedway for the NASCAR race on August 19th.

We are going to Shipshewana,Indiana in May. This is a beautiful Amish community. Wonderful shopping and food. In August we are going for a week in Canada (Niagara-on-the-Lake) to the Shaw Festival. This is a play festival that goes on from May-November. It is a beautiful town right on Lake Ontario. Just relaxing in every way. Lovely B&B's, hotels, restaurants and the plays are wonderful. It books quickly, so we have had our tickets and rooms booked since January. I'm really looking forward to it.

We'll be taking one week in June to travel to Missouri to see my wife's grandmother.

Then, in August, we'll take another week and go on our annual family vacation with the rest of my family.

We're going to Scotland for a few days at Easter, to see my sister; then we're shutting the company down for a couple of weeks at the end of August, but we haven't got any plans to go anywhere. (We got married in August last year and went to Crete for our Honeymoon, so we can't really afford to go away this year)

I don't mind too much though, I love England in the summer

Yeah, a couple friends and I are going down to The Outer Banks, NC. End of May can't get here fast enough.

No big plans but I do think we will go to Branson, MO to White Water with the kids...They will have a blast!

My fiance, his identical twin, and I are going to Texas to visit their family for the Fourth of July. (Oh no, 12 hours in the car with the two of them, ahhhhhh!!!!!!) Other than that, my fiance and I may go to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, in August, but that's not for sure yet.

Just got back from a weekend in Vegas!

We're planning a 2 week trip for the end of June - still choosing between England (my bf's choice), South Africa camping tour (my 1st choice), or hiking through the rainforest in Peru (my 2nd choice).

So we'll see. Anywhere will be nice!

I'm going river rafting on the Colorado River with my husband's family in June! I've never done it before and am way excited!!

Probably not. Bill doesn't get paid vacations and losing a week's pay would be hard on us. I have someone who will come in and see to the cats but, the dogs would have to be boarded and that's a big expense.

OMG! That is so ironic! Since I live in Nebraska, I do think it is cool your coming here. You once lived here, right? But the coolest thing about it all...is I'm going to MIS race in June and August! How cool is that?

I wish I could have vacations! but it so happened, that the other personal Assistant had (took part? don't know how to say) a car crush. She was sitting behind the driver. And she is in coma now... Almost 10 days... Wish she was allright. So I have to work for two...

That is ironic! Where in NE are you, Shell? I'll be in Columbus and Pierce (up by Norfolk). If you're in the area somewhere - within reasonable driving distance - maybe we can do lunch? I'm really excited about the race, but it's not 'set in stone' yet. I'm in the middle of a career change, and it really depends on if I can get the time off to go... right now it looks good though!

Cherry, I'm so sorry about Anna. Of course I'll pray for her.

We weren't planning a vacation this year, but now we HAVE to take one! Our car died its last death, and we have to get a new one. But we're up in NJ, and we're residents of Florida so... sometime the end of April or beginning of May, we have to drive down to Naples, Florida.

But... the good news is that we get to stop and see my parents along the way (Brunswick, GA). We also get to meet their new dog, Loki! (A little black teacup poodle).

BTW - Laura - you will LOVE it!!! My parents took me on vacation to the Grand Canyon when I was in High School. We went down the canyon on Mules, spent the night down there, and went whitewater rafting. It was sooooooo much fun!!!!

Laura, I went down the Grand Canyon a couple years ago!!! It was so much fun!!! Are you paddling or does the boat have a motor? (We took the lazy way . . . we had a motor, and didn't have to paddle. )
