I got a note from my instructor at school. Next Monday we are having class at her house. She gave the directions, and she lives very close to the old house my Grandparents owned when I was a child. They both died a long time ago (20 years for my grandfather & about 16 for my grand mother) My Grandfather put in the pool, and poured the concrete around the pool. My hand prints & the hand prints of the rest of the family were around the diving board. I don't know if they still are. I know the address she gave was not thier old house, but I started think about walking in that house again. I started wondering how it's changed. I know there is a stain glass window my Grandfather made that they put in one of the doors. I wonder if all my grandmother's wild flowers are still there. My Grandfather donated his body to science & my grandmother was cremated & her ashes sprinkled in the creek behind the house. The last couple of years have been difficult. I just want to go touch that window, & those wild flowers and talk to my grandparents agin. I wish I had known how special they were and how much I loved them. I know they loved me a lot. For some reason it is hitting me today how much I miss them.

Why not go and look up a deed to the property from when your grandparents owned it. Dig out some photos of you and them there.

Then go and knock on the door of the house and show the owners the old deed and pictures, and explain who you are and how you know the house. Tell them that you have been having a difficult time the last few years and missing your grandparents and how you can't visit their graves because there aren'tany. See if they will allow you to walk around the property.

Go there and bring back a rock or piece of wood so you have a piece of memory to take home.
You are so fortunate to have known your grandparents, and to have had them to love.

I wish I had cherished my first kitty more... I was a dumb kid and thought she'd always be around.

I'm nostalgic myself. I'd like to go to the house I grew up in and take a quick look around. Be weird to see if the pool table is still there as my dad had to have it brought in through the window upstairs. (the upstairs was the game/hang out room) I doubt it's still there as that was over 35 years ago!

Have some pictures or some kind of proof and you shouldn't have any problems with looking around.

laughing, because the house i grew up in is still there - as are my parents - & it's been 39 years since they moved there! [everything's still there, too]
