A kitten has taken up residence under our deck. We live in a semi rural area and the kitten looks to be about 2 months old. She is climbing a set of stairs and is eating the cat food we leave out for the other cats. We have also been giving her powdered cat milk substitute which she likes. She will come close at times, but will not let us touch her. She looks like she has fleas. Are there commercial flea treatments. The two regular domestic cats we feed are scared stiff of this kitten. What should we do? At what age should we spay this cat. Will it ever be domesticated? She does like to play with a peacock feather and will approach us when we sit out with it. Any advice will be appreciated.

if you can trap her/catch her some way she really needs to be socialised asap

I caught my Indy at 2 months and he is now very tame but apparently after 3 months it is hard, sometimes impossible to tame them fully.

That way you can also de-flea her and get her innoculations etc, spaying is at about 4-6 months

You can buy Advantage flea treatment or something similar, it goes on the back of their neck, so you would have to catch her to do it. She's most probably got worms as well, so will need treatment for that. She can be spayed once she's over 8 weeks or 2lbs - speak to low cost shelters in the area - they can probably spay her, worm her and give her flea treatment all at the same time.

If she's playing and will approach you then she definitely has a good chance at socialisation, but you will need to bring her in the house. Food and play are great ways to socialise kittens!

Good on you for caring about this kitten, and good luck!

We have two that were on their way to feral at 5 and 6 weeks. They fought like crazy when we caught them but were socialized very quickly.
Catch the kitty now, use Advantage for the fleas, take it to the vet and decide if you want to keep the kitty or do you want the kitty to go to a shelter. A no kill would be best. But first socialize the kitty some so that if she/he goes to a shelter she/he won't be terrified and will show well to prospective adopters.
