Welcome to the spotlight!

I'll start out with a couple of softball questions for you!

1. What brought you to TCS?

2. What do you do for a living?

3. If money were no object, what would you be doing for a living?

4. What is the naughtiest thing a member of the tribe ever did?

5. What, if any, hobbies do you have?

Enjoy your week!

1. What brought you to TCS?
My first digital camera
As soon as I got it unpacked and charged, I started taking pictures of the tribe (there were only 4 of them then). And, I wanted to show them off, so I just did a search and ended up here. It only took a couple of times for people to "Ooh" and "Ahh" over the tribe's pics to become addictive.

I'm a technical trainer for a corporation with several plants and factories in this area.

Nothing
I've already decided that if I ever win the lottery, I'm buying one of those huge 90' Gibson Houseboats, and the cats and I are going to spend the rest of our days cruising the Intercoastal waterways of the eastern US.

No contest. The night that Hobo Skimbleshanks scared me out of half my retirement years. I had the TV on, and the JL Hewitt show "Ghost Whisperer" was on. I had walked into the living room carrying a homemade turkey pot pie just as it reached the scene where the ghost of "Bloody Mary" was reaching out of a mirror, reaching straight for the TV screen. That's when the Hobo jumped from the floor to my shoulder to check out the pot pie. I knew for sure that the boogie man had just grabbed me and I'm 100% certain that I screamed like a little girl.

I count my motorcycle as a hobby, because I only seem to use it to ride around on my days off. Then, theres my canoes and my kayak. Sometimes I just go out and paddle around, sometimes I do canoe camping trips, and once I even did a 110 mile trip on the Green River from Munfordville to Evansville, Indiana.

You hear a knock at your front door. You open it and there stands the celebrity of your dreams!
Who is it and which Jellicle would be all over them?

Oh, and the next time you are in the Evansville area, let me know and maybe we can have a meet up!

Congrats on the Spotlight

Which of your kitties has the personality closest to yours?

Do you have a name picked out for a new member of the tribe, just in case
?

If you could sit next to anyone on an airplane, who would it be?

Who was your favorite teacher and why?

If you could live in any city in the world where would it be?

If you could instantly change one thing in the world, what would it be?

If you could have any job in the world what would it be?

Seriously, I crack my knuckles quite a bit. I know the studies say now that it's not harmful, but it still annoys the dickens out of some people

I will almost always walk away. Sometimes it just to go kick a trash can or something though

The whole tribe will come to the bed when I first lay down, I think to make sure I'm tucked in and not going anywhere. Sometime after I doze off they all take up their regular spots.

Yes. With me, that's a mood thing, so, it depends.

Very rarely. When I do, it's vodka or gin in a mixed drink. I have a bottle of each that have been here for months.

There's no plans for that, but I'm not leaving anyone out in the cold and dark either

Mischief Mistoffolees! We keep the same schedule, like the same snacks, and both like to slouch in front of the TV from time to time.

I try to match the name to the jellicle as much as possible, but the next male is probably going to be Munkustrap

Jeff Dunham, the ventriloquist...definitely would not be a boring trip.

My 6th grade Science Teacher, Alfred Beire. He taught me that if an answer didn't "feel" right to question and dig until I was satisfied.

Not really a city, but the area of Uffington Whitehorse has always fascinated me.

I would clean up the Pacific garbage patch!

Another quick question...are you aware that as the spotlight member of the week, you are obligated to send a homemade turkey pot pie to the person who nominated you? Look, I don't make the rules.

Yes, were friends first, friends later, she still sends Christmas cards to my mom...we just didn't marry well. Divided everything up ourselves and went our own ways.

3. what is your favorite musical group/singer?
Believe it or not; Pink!

4. what is your favorite book?
One I found at a yard sale in 1990. The guy that had it got it from an estate sale in one of those "bid on the box" deals, the book was at the bottom. It seems to be a witches' diary. I've been told that it's a "Book of Shadows", but I don't think so. It's written more like a diary or journal, all by hand, blue ink, black ink, and some that I think was a caligraphy pen or a quill. It's major cool.

5. what is your favorite movie?
Shenandoah

6. what is your favorite tv show?
I don't have a favorite right now. It was "King of Queens", but they took it away from me

7. what is your favorite guilty pleasure?
A homemade Mocha latte sprinkled with fresh ground cinnamon and a lemon biscotti.

Turvy Demeter had already been with me several years when the video version of "Cats" was released. Then when my mom found the litter of kittens and I took the little Calico, it struck me how much she looked like Jo Bingham's "Etcetera" character from "Cats", so that became her name. After that, any new cat was named after a "Cats" character, or a character name added to the name they already had (like Mischief Mistoffolees). It only seemed natural to refer to them by the musical name, "The Jellicle Tribe".

2. Do you have the same breakfast every day
Oh no, I'm in a constant state of variety.

3. Do you like gardening
Not really to be honest, being raised on a farm as a child, it was more work than hobby, and I just kind of left it behind.

4. Do you like grocery shopping
Actually, yes. Especially farmer's markets, I'll wander and poke and sniff and mess around for hours.
5. Tea or coffee?
Either or, I like them both.

I just wanted to say that I thought this was really cool. It sounds like the idea for a novel, where you would open it up and it would have a young person finding the journal in the bottom of a box of books at a yard sale, and then bits and pieces of the journal would be at the beginning of each chapter. The journal/diary would then lead him/her into a mess of adventure and witchery.

Man. Now I want to read that book.
