It has just come to my attention that Canidae pet food is sponsoring a funny car in competition. Don't know what a funny car is? Well, it is the fastest full-bodied car in the world, doing over 300 mph from a standing start in a quarter mile, in less than 5 seconds.

And each blast down the track costs nearly $10,000.

Canidae may be great food. But my rule of thumb is that anyone who sponsors a race car is charging too much for the goods or services.

That's a very interesting car sponsor! Especially for funny cars! (Occasionally Pedigree sponsors a cup car lol) I'm more of a cup/nationwide follower, but I occasionally watch the other races: funny cars, Indy, F1... but I agree, if you've got enough money to sponsor ANY professional racecar, you should lower your prices for the consumer

At least Wal-Mart doesn't sponsor races (like Lowes) or cars (like Home Depot or Target).

The trucking company I used to work for sponsored a top fuel car. Maybe they still do. But the truck drivers, who felt they were underpaid, were very resentful.

I agree with charging too much. The time before last that I bought dog food (which is every two weeks), a 40# bag of Canidae cost $37.99. The last time I went, it's now a 35# bag and it cost $41.99. I also discovered that they've added a bunch of grain and extra stuff to the ingredients (there's now 10 ingredients before the fat, when there used to be like 5, and it's got oatmeal, which is ok, but also creacked pearled barely and millet, which I don't like). I emailed them and they came back saying they made the food better and while it's got more grain it's got less carbs or something like that. They said they still offer a 40# bag but neither the Pet Supplies Plus I used to shop at or the one closer to my home that is new carry it. They only go to 35#. At least the new store is only chraging $37.99 for the 35# bag, but it's probably just a sale as it's the grand opening.

Walmart would have to raise there prices if they did that!!
Target is comparable to them in prices, they sponser a NASCAR AND they give $3 million to the community each week! Giving away $12 million a month doesn't seem like they would be making much profit? That is if they even do give $3mil a week away!
