Hey everyone.

I noticed today that it looks like the feral cat I've been caring for is crying. I definitely saw wetness (tears) coming out of one eye. Can a cat cry? and if not, what's with the tears? Can it be a health problem? Can his eyes be infected? I am very worried. Please help.

As always, thank you.

I'm not sure if cats can cry or not, but if it's only coming out of one eye... I would suspect it's something medical. Keep an eye on him. It may just be that he got something in the eye, and it was tearing to flush it out. Or it may have gotten scratched.

It sounds like a medical problem that should be checked by a vet. However, my friend's cat once cried when she was cooking onions. Just like a human, the cat started to shed real tears! However, he refused to jump off the kitchen counter, so that's the consequence of sitting too close to the stove!
