I'm soo excited! We literally have had like 3-4 picture frames the entire time we've been together, and not one with a picture of both of us! (all of them pretty small and two really cute dollar tree frames
) So I told Colin (DH) that it was high time we got some good picture frames now since we need something to put our wedding pictures in and start putting up family pictures. He agreed, so two days ago i went to Khols (local dpt. store) who was having a buy one get one free sale on a lot of their picture frames/decor- so i picked some up!
I can't wait to do a picture wall in one of our hallways now! I know it's just something simple, picture frames and all, but it thrilled me to death to be able to get some nice frames to start putting up our family pictures!
I'm planning on doing a black/white wall in one hallway, a wooden themed one in another, and got two wedding picture frames and a blue frame for our bedroom. I've already put pictures in most of them, now i just have to hang them up without tearing up the walls

Here's the frames i picked up!

This one is in our bedrooms on a small wall in the dressing area. I'm not sure what picture i'm going to put in it yet! We're getting some "newlywed" pictures taken on Monday since we didn't do engagement pictures.
I'm hoping to put one of those in there!

This is one of the ones i picked up for our wedding pics. (we got two wedding picture frames (little) from the wedding registry- so i got two more for some of our favorites! I think this one is my favorite! It's in the kitchen at the moment but i think i'm doing a black/white wall in one of the other hallways- so i'm planning to put that one with the other similar frames.

(This is the picture in this frame http://picasaweb.google.com/greenwed...31963477398258)

this is the other one- i'm going to do a black and white picture of both of us seperately on each side with the colored boquet and bout. (my invitation didn't fit
) http://www.kohls.com/kohlsStore/furn...+Wed+Frame.jsp
(These are the pictures going in that frame: i'm going to do his in black/white though and bring out the color in his bout. http://picasaweb.google.com/greenwed...34398723856642
http://picasaweb.google.com/greenwed...34647831959970

This is the wall hanging that's going on the wall with the wooden frames! http://www.kohls.com/kohlsStore/furn...+Wood+Sign.jsp I'm thinking i'll hang it eithor in the center and have the frames displayed around it (not evenly, kind of zig zaged if that makes sense) or i may hang it above the pictures

This is the first one going on the wooden picture wall! I can't wait!
I only am doing 4 picture frames and a wall hanging on it but i hope it will look ok!
http://www.kohls.com/kohlsStore/furn...lled+Frame.jsp
(this is the pictures in that frame- i like that you can still see the bubbles my friend was blowing into the car in this one if you look hard enough
)
http://picasaweb.google.com/greenwed...33659989481314

This is another one going on that wall (this frame is my favorite!!!)
http://www.kohls.com/kohlsStore/furn...Love+Frame.jsp
http://picasaweb.google.com/greenwed...30670692241490

Another one for that wall (This is the picture - i love it! I did this one just for Colin and his closest buddies!)http://picasaweb.google.com/greenwed...28944115387410 )
http://www.kohls.com/kohlsStore/furn...Wood+Frame.jsp

Another frame going on that wall (i wanted to do a black and tan wooden theme) I'm putting one of me and my sister kimmy in it!
http://www.kohls.com/kohlsStore/furn...shed+Frame.jsp
http://picasaweb.google.com/greenwed...29867533356610

What do you guys think? Anything you'd change as far as the pictures being in black/white or color? The wooden frames with the quotes are going on one wall in the hallway, the two wedding ones are going on another wall with other black frames, and the blue one is going in our bedroom -so that's why they're different.

I don't want to sound cliche or anything, but you were such a beautiful bride, and the 2 of you look great as a couple, I don't really think it matters what type of frames you use, that will always shine through

Linda, you're too sweet
Thank you! I'm just so glad to finally be able to hang up some of those really special pictures now- it's such a treat!

(My niece Taylor helped me pick out some of the frames -we had a blast too!
I really love the quotes on some of the wooden ones!)

Over the river and through the woods...
FINALLY I get to see some wedding pics! You are gorgeous!! I agree, it doesn't matter what you put the pictures in....you and you husband are the stars. But, I really like the frames you picked out.

I have one wall that is for pictures...I just haven't hung any up yet. I have all the pictures from my mom's house, plus wedding pics and family pics to hang up. I just have to get around to doing it. Having pictures in a home makes it a "home" and I miss that.

Aw thank you! I appreciate that! / Glad you liked the frames- my niece and I had sooo much fun picking them out! (Especially since they were buy one get one free
) I know what you mean about it not feeling quite like home without pictures! That's part of the reason i'm so eager to get our house decorated a bit - it still doesn't feel "personalized" to a degree to me- if that makes sense!

You going to do a cat wall too?
Thanks Helen! The Serenity prayer is my favorite - so i definitely wanted that in our home!

I'm not sure- Colin still has not forgiven me for the time he came home to find tons of giraffe pictures plastered all over our fridge
He made me take them down and said "only people pictures on the fridge Nikki"
(I had tons of giraffe pictures from when i helped with the giraffe runs at the zoo and from our trip to St. Louis because they made me happy- i'm not sure what his reaction would be if he came home and found an animal wall

I think it'd be cute though! I definitely want to do a really nice one of my wolf mix Ginger who we recently lost
Maybe i could do some cute black and white ones of each of the furbabies.

(speaking of cat walls -did you add Pepino to yours yet?
)

I have a wall of posters from concerts and old album covers. Michael's has frames just for old album cover art, so I have some Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson, and Waylon Jennings album covers in the mix of that group. I have another grouping of pictures of my DH's work and his mentor. My hallway has stuff that I just like, and our best friend's wedding. I have family photos on my book shelves. I love putting groups together like that.

Ok so i'm sad to say that I am just now getting around to hanging these
They've been sitting in my hallway (with the pictures in them) for a while now- but we got soo distracted with redoing our bathroom that I just forgot to hang them up lol!

So today I decided to give it a go....now normally I am not the designated picture hanger in this house, that would be DH. (And for good reason) Ok so I got out the measuring stick, got the level, had the right hooks /etc to hang with and took my time to mark the wall and it STILL doesn't look right! I've only got 3 up so far (just doing the wooden ones today) and i don't know what went wrong
I'm thinking that I need to take them all down and start all over again...

Pam all the frames for our Monet paintings came from Hobby Lobbby
Love them!!!
(also still need to hang a few more of those up too!
)

They have such good prices on their picture frames - when I got my big ones a few months back for our paintings, they we're 50% off
I'll have to go back and look at their smaller picture frames!

I'm thinking of seeing if my sister will come over and help me
I was going to try and suprise Colin by hanging up our pictures while he's at work, didn't go so good
Apprently I should not be using a hammer today!

Well, I gave up and called Kimmy! She's supposed to call me back, I told her i'd make her coffee and bake something if she comes over and helps.
I hope my bribe works!

I feel your pain, I have no sense of how to get everything even etc. When we did our cat wall, David was the Engineer LOL I almost threw him over the banister because I was tired and he's a perfectionist
But it came out beautiful
We want pics when it's done Nikki

Helen, I just started cooking dinner with the hopes of bribing Kimmy over here to help
We'll see! She's supposed to call me back in a little while. Honestly I don't even know what I did wrong- I tried to do it the right way but now it just looks odd

Please do not through David over the banister

They're finally up!

My sister and her family came over tonight for dinner and while they were here, my brother- in- law, Jason came too (and he's good with things like that) so he hung them up for me
I'm so excited to finally have up some family pictures!

I've got one more frame on the opposite wall to finish copying pictures for and then put up and once I do that i'll get some pictures
