HELP HELP PLEASE!!
ive had this problem accuring for a week,
ive just noticed that my 5yr old cat's frontal paw is very swollen and the rims are bruised and it looks like the skin is decomposing!!
there is no smell but she is reluctant to put pressure on the swollen paw
Pillo might have diabetes (caused by pancreatitis) but it has never been confirmed.
Is it true that diabetes can cause skin decomposition and swelling??
please help

yes we will take her to the vet
thepaw is a bit darker in pink, like a flushed colour
compared to her other paw the soft tissue is inflated like a baloon and there is no diffretiation of the 3 segments of a normal paw
looks a bit infected

but for now has anyone heard of skin decomposition and diabetes???

Hi
I work with dioabetic cats and have adopted some. I have never heard of diabetes cause skin to decompose. This sounds like a different problem unrelated and it sounds like an x ray may be neeed if the foot is swollen
What can happen with out of control iabetics is they get something called neuropathy in the back legs. They start walking on their hocks. it can be totally reversable with regulation.
Can you tell me what the symptoms are that make you think that your cat has diabetes?
How was the pancreatis diagnosed? Many vets unfortunately use pancreatis as a 'catch all' when they do not know what is wrong.
If your cat does have diabetes, I will help you every step of the way to learn how to treat this disease correctly.
