I've got a question I'm only asking because the holistic vets office I went to today mentioned this. My persian has been on Royal Canin SO prescription food for about a good year or more. This food is for his chronic UTI problem. Well the Vet Tech was surprised he was still on it and mentioned that he shouldn't stay on this food for too long of a period. When I started asking about it she clamed up and said I really need to see the vet for advice. Well I've got a wellness appt. for my kitty on Monday, but I'm wondering what the advice I can get here is. Is this stuff bad for long term? My kitty hasn't had a UTI since he's been on this food, so I'm not sure what to do. Thanks for any advice!

It depends on the Cat. My Coco has to stay on it. If we take her off urinay food her problem comes back. I know people who have Cats that have been on it forever. Coco has been on C/D for almost 2 years and we started the Royal Canin a few months ago. I give her both.
