Going to Boston tomorrow - advice?

I'm taking the train down with DH and my inlaws and we are staying in the North End for the day. Does anyone have an awesome shops that we can go to? I love jewelry, fun artsy stuff, toys, mac, stuff like that - food! We are definitely going to Mike's Pastry (yum) I just don't want to spend the entire day walking and doing nothing.

I always love to go to Quincy Marketplace and Fanueil Hall. The Aquarium is also really cool. I'm not too sure how close that is to the North End though.

just to update - we especially are looking for italian stuff......

of course I'll be getting some celtic stuff!!!! maybe some redsox stuff.

we'll definitely be going there Karen, are there any specific shops we should look for? is there a list anywhere?

Wander outside the area a bit as well. If I remember right there are also some nice shops and restaurants on the streets nearby.

Ooh, how fun!!! I only live about 5 hours from Boston but Ive never been there. Have fun!! And let us know if you find any cool shops! : )

ok i'm back - i had a pretty good time, but each time i go to boston i go thinking "GREAT" but I always come home thinking - Boston is not one of my favorite places. you gotta like history, sports and beer to like boston. I like none of those

My husband traveled to Boston and when he came home he also said the same thing. It was neat to look at, but overall he didn't really like it.
