Mittens is on Revolution and my dog, Watson is on Comfortis and Interceptor (for flea prevention and heartwork prevention). I have ordered from 1800petmeds before and had no trouble with getting and using the product. I have heard that there are other online pharmacies that don't require a prescription to order the pet meds. Do any of you use an online pharmacy, if so which ones? My vet will not write out a prescription, so I am looking for one that I can get the Revolution and Interceptor especially. Thanks for your insight!

I personally dont know any, but my suggestion is to find a vet that will. The only reason vets do not write out a prescription is because they know you can find the drug much cheaper elsewhere, and don't want you to spend your money elsewhere. There is no limit to how vets price their products, so prices on one individual product can range hundreds of dollars in one province, state, or even city, depending on where you go.

For more info on this kind of scam, I would find the CBC Marketplace episode on it--they tell you all you need to know about prescriptions and why vets don't usually give you one right away, except where it is required by law.

I get all of my medications from my vet. Everytime I've compared her rates to 1800petmeds, she is right in line with those prices. Her techs actually research prices online before they set them in the office. If your vet overcharges, perhaps call around and ask what other vets in your area charges.
