Hi!
I have a Cat whos about 2 years old now , Can't be too sure unforunately We found her in a Garage. She was a Neglected cat. When we found her she was still with her mother and Covered In car oil.

After cleaning , treating and healing the cat. We discovered that she now (1 1/2 years later) she has a habbit of licking plastic bags.

Odd no?
And I dont mean ones with sugar or water or anything on it. Nope a plain old plastic bag. Nothing Special at all.

With a dog.. I can understand why this would happen compulsion. However this is a relatively steady thing that she can seem to start and stop at will.

Thats not too uncommon. My cat Buddy likes to lick plastic bags. Every time I go to the grocery store, he'll be up on the counter licking the bags. And heaven forbid he gets one of the loops caught around his neck (he did this once and went NUTS!).

I'm also kind of worried that she'll end up actually swallowing some , and on the rare occasion she licks the inside of the bag so she crawls her way in. Don't want anything happening to her.

Is there anyway to resolve this?

pepe did that with a paper bag and like a dummy he tried to run around with it attached to his neck

what I do with my plastic bags is I put them inside one big bag and hang it on a doornob high enough so they can't reach it or get to it like a closet door

so theres no way to break the cat of the habbit?

unforunately our Recylcing bin is out in the open where the cat can access it and we don't have many places to put it.

maybe spray some water with lemon juice in it on the bags it will smell good to you but the cat won't like it since they dislike the smell of lemon
