My four almost five year old broke her wrist last night. She was rolling down a grassy hill with the cousing, when somehow her little arm got twisted under her, I knew when I her her scream it was broken, She chose a purple cast, which she thinks is pretty cool, after I put her bed last night I bawled like a baby, I know it it ridiculous to be so upset, kids get hurt, but I can't stand to see my children in pain, She is still hurting pretty bad today. I have been giving her Advil as often as she can have it. I am such a baby

Oh no, the poor little thing.
That must have been very scary for both of you. I guess she won't be swimming this summer, that's a bummer. At least kids heal super fast; she will be fine in no time.

Aww! Poor little thing! *hugs*

By tomorrow she will be all over it and showing everyone how cool her cast is.

My friend's little boy (5 years old) broke his arm. He wanted her to decorate it with flames, so she painted flames on his cast. He loved it! Couldn't stop showing people his cool cast.

If you have any drawing talent, or some stencils, maybe decorate it with flowers and some My Little Pony stuff?

Awww I'm sorry your little girl got hurt, hope she's fighting fit soon I remember the one and only time one of our children needed emergency treatment, I did the big brave Mummy thing while I was needed and then, afterwards, crumpled - it is such a horrible feeling. Big hugs to you too

Over the river and through the woods...
Awww, the poor sweetheart!
. But at least she is young and kids bones heal so fast she should be fine soon. I know it was hard for you too, but like you said kids get hurt. The only way to protect them is keep them in a padded cell, and you would probably go to jail for that! But, she will be fine.

I broke my arm when I was 6 by falling off my swingset in the back yard. It was a "green stick" break and my arm was shaped like an "S" (it fractured in 2 places). Luckily, I guess the way I landed I pinched a nerve because it didn't hurt at all, it just scared the crap out of me. I went into the house screaming...mom took one look at my arm...and turned around and threw up in the sink. Then she got herself together, asked me if it hurt, and took me to the emergency room.

The was the funnest summer! I was the first kid in the neighborhood to have a cast so EVERYONE had to sign it! I still went in the water (bread bags and rubber bands to protect the cast) and made a ton of new friends. I was actually sorry when they took the cast off because I wasn't special anymore!

I broke my wrist in Sweden, falling down a flight of stairs with my luggage, about 3 weeks ago now. The first time I've every broken a bone! She will have some rough times for the next 6 weeks, but at least it's in the summer. Was it the hand she usually writes with?
