So my alarm clock wakes me up with the country station and it was playing tihs duet this morning it starts out with a girl singing something along the line of "and today i'll be your wife.. or become your wife.." and I've tried googling and asking friends and no one knows what it is! It's driving me nuts because I want it! Can anyone help me???

I found this but its not country. It looks and sounds 80ish to me. Maybe someone remade it? Was it an older country song or something newer. Hmm I'll look a little more to see if I can come up with anything country like that.

You could go to the country station website or call the station and they will be able to tell you what their play-list was this morning at that time.

I'd try that. It doesn't sound familiar to me either; but let us know what it was when you find out!

The first song that came to mind was Clint Black's "When I Said I Do", a duet with his wife, Lisa Hartman Black. But I don't see a lyric like that in their song.

I too would go on the station's website and check to see what their playlist was when you woke up. Cat Country has an hourly playlist to look back on.

I dont know... it doesnt match the lyrics you mentioned.... but the gist of it is the same... well the beginning of the song anyway - but it's a duet.

Golden Ring sung by Tammy Wynette and George Jones

(T.W.)
In a pawn shop in Chicago
On a sunny summer day
A couple gazes at the wedding rings
There on display

(G.J)
She smiles n' nods her head
As he says, "Honey that's for you,
It's not much, but it's the best
That I can do."

Chorus-both
Golden rings (golden ring) with one tiny little stone
Waiting there (waiting there) for someone to take you home
By itself (by itself) it's just a cold metallic thing
Only love can make a golden wedding ring

(T.W.)
In a little wedding chapel later on that afternoon
An old upright piano plays that old familiar tune
(G.J.)
Tears roll down her cheeks
And happy thoughts run through her head
As he whispers low, "With this ring, I thee wed."

Chorus- both
Golden ring (golden ring) with one tiny little stone
Shining ring (shining ring) now at last it's found a home
By itself (by itself) it's just a cold metallic thing
Only love can make a golden wedding ring

Ooo-ooo

(T.W.)
In a small two room apartment
As they fought their final round
He says, "You won't admit it,
But I know you're leavin' town."

(G.J.)
She says, "One thing's for certain,
I don't love you any more."
And throws down the ring
As she walks out the door

Chorus- both
Golden ring (golden ring) with one tiny little stone
Cast aside (cast aside) like the love that's dead and gone
By itself (by itself) it's just a cold metallic thing
Only love can make a golden wedding ring

(Both)
In a pawn shop in Chicago
On a sunny summer day
A couple gazes at the wedding rings
There on display,
Golden ring.

Still Hittin' 'Em Right Between The Eyes
What comes to mind for me is Rascal Flats "Every Day" ...

You could have bowed out gracefully
But you didn't
You knew enough to know to leave well enough alone
But you wouldn't
I drive myself crazy trying to stay out of my own way
The messes that i made
But my secrets are so safe
The only one who gets me
Yeah, you get me
It's amazing to me

How every day
every day
every day
You save my life

I come around all broken down and crowded out
And you're comfort
Sometimes the place I go is so deep and dark and desperate
I don't know
I don't know

How every day
every day
every day
You save my life

Sometimes I swear I don't know if I am coming or going
But you always say something without even knowing
That I am hanging onto your words with all my might
And it's alright
Yeah I am alright
For one more night
Every day

Every day
Every day
Every Every Every day
You save me
You save me oh oh oh oh
Na na na na na na-ah
Every day
Every day

Every day
You save my life

I tried calling the station and they didn't pick up.. We're assuming that they were playing taped stuff because of the holiday.. and their website is crap.. I know I have the sentence pretty much right and yes I know it should be googleable... If I find out what it is I'll let you know.. because I dont know if it's new or old.. I've been listening to the station and will be when I can until I hear it again!

Even if they did give the DJ's the day off, they'll still have someone there running the boards (I was a college DJ), because someone has to watch for dead air (that silence you hear when a DJ/Engineer goofs up and isn't ready), and make sure the right commercials are running at the 'paid for' times... They were probably away from the boards, or pulling the next songs, or taking a potty break... maybe even on another call. But trust me, someone has to be there while the station is on the air.

I've been digging... and I'm coming up with the same stuff, although I've also search through the Clint Black stuff as well as the sickeningly sweet duets of Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. Nothing was dead on, but I'd bet there are some I haven't heard... as I rarely listen to country radio anymore.

If you can note the time and day of when you heard it, it'll help when you do get a live person at the station.

And if it's the station I think it is, being where you say your location is, they yes, their website does indeed su**.

Okay... going to bed now... have to work tomorrow... hope the fireworks stop SOON!

Good luck in your quest!

Amanda

Ohhhhhhhk... So I was kind of right and wrong on those lyrics.. The song is "I give all my love to you" by Rhonda Vincent and Russell Moore.. It actually says "And today I'll make you mine"... Hey, I was half asleep, what do you expect?? lol

Well, you did have 3 words right
But "And today I'll...." could have been followed by any number of things, hehe

Glad you got it figured out.
