The docs gave him some blood pressure medicine I presume??
My dad has had gout for decades and while I know of people who take daily meds for that he just avoids the foods that flare in up. Once in a while he slips up then he will take the meds to calm it back down.
Hoping everything works out for the both of you.

Many for your husband, and for you too. First of all, don't panic. It's scary when something is wrong with someone we love, but high blood pressure isn't a death sentence. If it is that, it can be managed with medication, diet and excersize. Don't panic!

I know, it's easy for me to say since it's not my DH, but my husband has been through 4 operations since we got married 3 years ago. I was a nervous wreck for each one (even though all but 3 were minor). So, I understand how you feel. But you have to face it head on as a team and you will get through this. Just wait to see what is actually wrong before thinking the worst!

Of course he is in my prayers! I saw him this morning and he looked good, but he said he was still concerned about the BP. I suggested you two do something relaxing. He said maybe tomorrow!

Really, he works so hard. I think that the business is a huge factor. You are sooooo good at planning. Wedding planning... honeymoon planning... I know you can figure out something fun to take his mind off things for tomorrow! GO AWAY STRESS!

Thanks to all of you for your healing vibes!! Dh just got done at Dr's office and his blood pressure is still a little high, but it is better. They want him to change his diet, exercise more, try to keep stress down and take BP medicine. I am much better & I know I shouldn't have gotten so upset, but I waited forso long for someone like him
Again thanks to all of you, I will keep you updated.

I have a BIL that is a cardiac surgeon. I usually have very normal blood pressure. I got an infection in my thumb which required surgery and antibiotics for an extended period of time. I had an allergic reaction to one of the antibiotics and my blood pressure went extremely high. When I called BIL to ask if I should worry, his advice was this: when your body is under stress such as an infection (or gout?) or an allergic reaction (like shellfish?), it can trigger a short term spike in your blood pressure. As high as mine was, he told me simply to monitor it, and I shouldn't worry unless it remained high for weeks or months on end. Once I normalized my health, my blood pressure returned to normal.

Buy yourself a blood pressure cuff and monitor it at the same time each day. They sell decent ones at pharmacies these days that you can put on your wrist and do it yourself.

And sending that this is a temporary thing.
