Vascular Necrosis

Well, today was Ferd's vet appt. and we were left with the unfortunate decision to have him PTS because of this necrosis he has in his right hip. They said the only treatment is to amputate and even then, there is no guarantee that it wouldn't happen in his other legs as well. The vet said he is having significant pain (he has been limping for a month). I have been crying all day, as my baby is only 2 yrs old and I can't allow any more pain for him. I'm devastated.

I'm so sorry for your loss.....poor little fellow....hardly had a chance to live......he knows he was loved.......it's never easy to let them go....it takes bravery and unselfishness...though I'm sure that you are not feeling that right now......here are some healing hugs for you....

Thank you all for the kind words. It has been so hard today...I can't help but to feel guilty but I know we loved him dearly and did right by him today. My son (almost 18) cried all the way to work when I drove him this afternoon.

I am trying to keep my head up a bit because of the 8 newborns in my house.
