If it's yellow it means there is a new post. Orange means hot thread.

Certain envelopes are orange and yellow. None are all orange or all yellow.

Have I stumped the band today? What does it mean if there is an orange and yellow envelope to the left of your post? It means one of two things (or could be both), and of course, is explained somewhere here on TCS.

Stickies are labeled as such. Scroll down in the Cat Lounge to the lower left, right above Posting Rules. It shows that an orange and yellow envelope indicates a HOT THREAD. If the envelope is open, it shows there are new posts. If it is closed, there has not been any new posts since the last time you looked. In either case, an orange and yellow envelope indicates the thread is hot.

The questions now becomes: What is a hot thread? Define a hot thread. What makes a thread hot? It can be either _______ or _______ (or both). There are two things that can make the thread marked with an orange and yellow envelope. What are they?

Since the question has changed can I play agian? Just in case, what makes a thread hot is how many posts/ views it has. Hot thread means it's a busy thread. I guess.

This does not happen very often. That is why we have KatKwizzes, to show you these things and when you see where the answer is you are going to cry.

Scroll down in The Cat Lounge to where the envelopes are labeled. Now, take your mouse and do a "mouse over" of the orange and yellow envelopes. They give you the answer of it means that the thread has had 15 or more replies or 150 or more views.

Be advised there are "secret" information hot spots around and about on TCS!
