If I don't have to work the weekend of the 4th I am planning on going to my summer home. The plan right now is to leave on Thrusday and come back on Sunday night but I don't know what to do about Tomnus. He absolutly LOVES it up their but he has only been up their when it was just me and him or me and my dad and him. This weekend my dad and my grandma and my grandma's cat are going to be up their. I am worried that Tom will see that house has his territory because their has never been another cat their before. My Grandma's cat is 16 years old and has health problems also so I don't know if exposing him to a younger cat would hurt him...and I don't know if what he can be passed to Tom. Another issue is going to be the fireworks which will be going off pretty much non-stop from Thursday-Sunday. The population of this area is 98% people on vacation so that means lots of drunken fireworks going off. We will be fine in the house I'm just worried about the noise. I am pretty sure Tom as never been around anything like that and I don't want to stress him out. With me being gone for almost 4 days I don't know if I want to leave him here either.

What should I do?

Obvisouly if I get the job waiting tables this is a mute point because I would have to work but I still haven't heard back so it looks like I am going out of town this weekend.

I am going a way this weekend too. Do you have a friend who could stop in to check on and feed Tomnus? My neighbor is going to watch my cats this weekend. How big is the place you will be staying? Could Tomnus be kept separate from other animals if it is going to be an issue?

Its a 4 bedroom 2 bath house so their are pleanty of places Tom could stay seperated and my grandmothers cat is very very skidish so I am sure the second that other people show up(especially men) he will be hiding in my grandmothers room for the rest of the trip. Unfortunatly their is no one here that can look after Tom so either he comes or I don't go at all. I will not leave him that long with out fresh food or water. So hopefully he can some and will be fine I am just worried about how he will react to all the other people(2 other people + me + a few other possible people), the "new" cat, and the fireworks. It sounds like a warzone up their over this weekend so its very loud and he is used to piece and quiet so I am not sure how he will take it. Their are pleanty of places for him to hide if he wanted to but I would rather not stress him out that much. Then again he might be fine, one never knows. He does have a very "go with the flow" temperment and not much bothers him so given that I am thinking he will be fine but I want to be sure.

I would bring him with you and leave him in home room if possible. Can't do anything about the fireworks going off though.
We always go up to one of my SIL's place as they have a large pond. Its like a mini family reunion. Everyone brings lots of food, we have beverages, the volleyball net, bocce and card game (in the shade). We go swimming (have to bring my float chair this year!!)
Too much fun in the sun and food to stuff our faces with. Playing with my grandneices and grandnephews (from babies up to 8 years old)!! I look forward to this every year and the weather is forecast mid 76's and sunny!!
