Wall E

As most of you know by now I see a lot of movies. Mostly because I love to go sit in a nice dark theater and have a wold play out in front of me, but I also love to write about them. Especially when I see one like Wall E.

Wall E is a classic. It's almost a perfect film.

For those who don't know what it's about I'll give you a brief plot outline. Wall E is a single left over garbage robot in charge of cleaning up Earth after humanity has left. His days are spent compacting trash into large cubes, and looking at the stuff man kind has left behind. Wall E is a lonely soul left to fend for himself, so he's created his own world.

Cue, Eve, a sexy brand new probe robot that comes to Earth in search of plant life. She encounters Wall E, tries to kill him, and goes about her merry way. Wall E becomes smitten with her.

This film does things with animation that I didn't think were possible. Pixar, has taken the genera and put new life into it. I can't say enough good things about how this movie looks, feels, and made me feel.

Now, it is rated G, but I'm going to let you all in on a little secret. The first half of the film is silent. That's right, no one talks. We hear the clicks and chirps of Wall E and Eve, but there's no dialog in the traditional sense. For a younger kid this may be a bit much. I'd say seven and up with this one, but as always make your own judgments.

Also, the short put in front of Wall E is one of the cutest films I've ever seen.

All in all, if you have plans this July 4th and it rains make Wall E your plan B.

I've heard that this movie has gotten great reviews, it's nice to hear it from someone "real" as opposed to a critic
I may just have to check this out

I thought this movie was absolutely incredible. I was expecting something cute and fluffy like Finding Nemo or Toy Story, but the depth and development of the story line just blew me away.

As said earlier, the first half of the movie has little to no dialog, but a slightly older audience has absolutley no trouble in understanding the emotion and thoughts running through WALL*E's head. I think even the younger audience will enjoy the physical humor of things, like WALL*E's unending clumsiness and bad luck (things fall on him all the time) but this was really a movie made for a little bit older audience, not because of violent content or anything, but because it makes you think a little bit.

I highly recommend everyone watch this movie, I was just blown away by it!

I own all the Pixar movies, and I guess this will be added to my collection sometime soon!

I haven't seen Wall E yet, but can't wait to!

We don't see a lot of movies, but this one is definitely on our must see list -- and it's playing right now, right up the street from us. A pleasant evening stroll. Rob was saying that the ratings on Cinema Clock average 9.3 (out of 10). So when I saw a thread from our "Resident Reviewer", I was more than a little interested in what you had to say, Heather. You might be interested in reading those reviews, too. They may not be people we know, but they are "real people", not critics. Maybe tonight.

I don't know if you know it, but trailers, teasers, even shorts from virtually all current movies are available at

Apple Trailers

You will need QuickTime to view them.

I am putting it on my list for us. Thanks.

Oh, and during the silent part of the movie, did anyone's cell phone go off?

This movie is GREAT!!! Two thumbs up! It's the best G rated movie I've seen in a long time. My boyfriend and I (21 and 22) drove 30 miles just to see this movie, and it was well worth it!

Amazing graphics! Deffinitely Pixar's best movie yet.

In an article we read, it said the creators watched and studied Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd and Charlie Chaplin movies every day for about a year, just to perfect the art of expressing feelings without using words.

It was a good movie- personally, I think I still like Monsters Inc., Ratatouille and The Incredibles better, but this is still another masterpiece to add to Pixar's list.

I can't wait to see this one. The thing that is magic about PIXAR (among other things) is that they understand the value of a good story and their animation magic is like the icing on the cake.

Too bad no one else understands that in Hollywood.

Toby and I saw this night before last.
We loved it!

We had to drive in to Laughlin to see it, but well worth the cost of gas and the high price of watching a movie in a casino.

Definitely one that I'll buy, though Pixar has yet to disappoint me

I called my friend Saturday and after the hellos to each other, I said "Wall-E". She had been thinking about calling me to go see it and laughed when I said it.
The husbands came too and we all loved it. I'm buying the DVD because I know I didn't pick up all the small details. Peter Gabriel's song as the credits rolled was good enough to download when i got home.
Pixar is amazing and the short, Presto, was so innovative and madcap, it was a nice intro to Wall-E. When the movie started I wasn't sure I would like it, earth was pretty grim looking, but I got right into it. Who knew I would love a little waste allocation load lifter-earth class and a cockroach?
Go see it if you can, it's uplifting and with a great message for kids and adults.

It was a really enjoyable movie, though the one thing I have to agree with is I was surprised about the "no dialog" thing at the beginning- we took our 4 year old daughter to her first theater movie to see it, lol. We did a good bit of "shhh" and "whisper" in the beginning. It didn't help that we have a small "master of the obvious" who likes to tell you what is happening- as it happens
, but after the that first part, she was glued (quietly) to the screen and the popcorn, lol

Hmmm...I'll have to see if hubby will take me to it this weekend! I wish I could learn how to do that kind of animation!
