I realised last night that it was my 4 year anniversary of fostering. I went through my notebook, and i have had 60 cats in that time (if you include ones that have been picked up and spent a night or two before goign to someone else). My aim was 50, so I have well and truly beat it. I have only adopted 2 cats, with a further 3 who have had to live their life out here, due to age/illness but not been adopted, and 3 are currently looking for homes. I am very proud of that number, as only 15 have been mums and kittens, so the bulk have been adults, and I can only take a small number in one go due to working full time and only having a 2 bed house. Here's to the next 4, I certainly have no plans to stop fostering!! I wonder how long it will take me to get to 100!!

Congrats! What you are doing is absolutely wonderful, and I'm sure there are many thankful kitties who have come through your home
I wish I could foster some cats, but I'd get WAYYY too attached (I mean, come on, I went to the SPCA and fell in love with a kitten, and cant get him off my mind now! But DH isn't ready for another cat yet).

Thanks guys, I am really proud of it - I think senior cats are in double figures too, would hvae to check my pad in case I missed anyone, but off the top of my head, I am sure it is 11. i actually dont find it hard to give them up, they are only here until a good home can be found, and that is fine with me - partly I am glad to let them go, cos it means I can help another needy cat then, and that helps a lot.

That is 60 cats who've had better lives thanks to you. I know many who lived out life with you most likely would've been euthanized otherwise.

It might be hard to give them up, but when you have to deal with the fact that they would be killed otherwise, you just deal with it.

Thanks - I am one of the few people round here willing to take on the oldies.

Surprisingly, I dont find it hard to give them up, I think it is cos I am looking for the next foster!!
