I had my excitement for the day

So I was planning on doing some personal gardening stuff for me this morning, then some quick client stuff later this afternoon. Got thirteen plants in the ground and more placed to plant. So I decided I better get my load of bark mulch before it gets too warm. Off I go and had to wait a bit for loading but I got a more than last week as I told him I had some stones in the last batch.

Unfortunately I had too much of the tarp stuck in the trailer so I couldn't cover the entire load. I decided to take the back roads vs the hwy so mulch wouldn't be flying off the trailer. About 2/3's or so home and I thought I heard something so I pull over and check.

The back left rear tire on the trailer-well lets say I was mere feet away from driving on the rim. No spare of course and wasn't sure if I would drive with the trailer having only three wheels instead of four.

Call Neil who calls his brother (who I saw this morning at same place getting mulch!). He brings his trailer spare-wrong size. He has to go to work so they/we go back to their house (I left my truck/trailer with flashers on), and drop him off and my SIL drive to farm/fleet store. Luckily they had a tire that size 1/2 clearance and put it on the rim in minutes. My SIL drive back to the truck (this is all 7-8 miles away in every direction). Put the tire on and I tighten it, remove jack, tighten and I drive 45mph (instead of 55-60) all the way home with windows open (its 86F and humid) no radio so I can listen to tire noise.

Arrived home in one piece. I had not eaten at this time. I left sawmill with load about 10ish and arrived home 12:45. So I'm not removing trailer from truck as I'm not sure if its to full-its not to heavy I know.

So there goes the clients, errands etc for today as I have a meeting at 6 pm.

Good thing is it only cost $41 dollars as my SIL/BIL didn't want any $$ for their effort.

Have to get a spare rim/tire now as I learned my lesson the hard way!!

Another really handy thing to carry with that kind of trailer is a block of wood, possibly made from a 4x4, about 18 inches long and sloped on one end. You can run the good tire up on it, and it will lift the other tire enough to change it, without using a jack.

Right now everyone in the house is feeling kinda sick (including my bf,my 2 cats and I) and we're sooo poor since we have to pay our $900 rent with this pay

Must be the day for flat tires. My SO got behind a truck going to the dump and picked up a nail in the front tire of his bike. He kept filling it every time he saw an air pump, but I finally had to go get him and take him to get a patch kit.

But it was the rear tandem tire so how would I use it?? Can't visualize at the moment.

That sounds like our "homemade" ramps Neil uses to drive the vehicles on to change the tires only smaller. We have enough bits of lumber around to make what you suggested.

I also found out I put the lug nuts on the wrong way-like I would know that-he asked if I looked at the other tires and I said I was just happy to get the tire fixed and able to drive home.
