a friend of mine has 4 male cats, varies ages(6,5 and two are 1). All fixed and healthy.

Recently, she adopted a lil female kitten. About 8 weeks old. Shes tiny! adorable to! Orange tiger striped long hair.

But she has a big problem. She hasent really been able to learn to clean herself! her lil butt is matted, poor thing! i helped my friend give her a bath and get the matts out. They look to be as if shes not cleaning herself well.

Will she be able to learn from the boys how to clean herself proper? One of the one year old boys has taken a intrest in her, playing with her and licking her.

she'll probably learn some from them. if they're anything like my boy, they'll clean her - Chip has a MAJOR fascination w/Firefox's tushie... he's always cleaning it [it's really not that dirty, but he's determined!].

I'm trying to remember here. Persi was 7 weeks old when I got him and I am pretty sure he was not at all into cleaning himself until he was quite a bit older. Now he keeps himself so clean I don't even bathe him and he has very long hair (see picture next to my username) and he smells clean. I comb him EVERY day including his rear end and that always looks clean too. Right now I would say your kitten is too young to be worrying about it at this stage. Oh, and the top of his head is kept clean by Alley!!
