I posted about a week ago, about my spayed semi-feral, going after her then 7 1/2 week old kittens, well she is still nursing one kitten. She does not want the others. I have had to separate them. The one she favors, just wants to nurse. she doesn't want to wean. I have been trying to get her, to eat separate from Mom. she had a little food this morning mixed with milk. She is now almost 9 weeks old. Is this unusual? How can I encourage her to eat?

I've seen kittens try to nurse at 4 months and older. It's not for food at that point, but for comfort.

9 weeks isn't too old and if the mother still has any milk, it's doing her a favor. Just keep offering the food. Do you rub a little on it's teeth and let it lick/eat a little off your finger? (if you do, be careful. She'll bite down hard when you least expect it.
) What canned food are you giving them? Maybe she'd like something nice and smelly - in a fish flavor.

I have tried several flavors, She will eat a little if I add milk. I have to take her to another room. If she is with mom there is no way she will eat. She is a cute little stinker.
but very stubborn

When a cat has been spay the milk will most likely dry up soon. But, add cat milk to the food, and keep a watch to make sure it is going down. Mom will cut it off sooner or later. Are you keeping all kittens & Mom too?

No I am not keeping them. Mom is a semi-feral , I already have her two older babies, Lucky and Gus. I kittynapped Mom so I could end the kitten problem. That is why I had her spayed. I am hoping to find her, and her babies homes. Mom doesn't fit in well here, she hates dogs, we have two, she is very skidish. I am hoping to find a home for her on a farm. I would release her here but, we have someone who poisions cats. My little dog was poisoned a few weeks ago, she is alive but in congestive heart failure.
