Some background information: My wife and I are part of a nonprofit group that cares for strays in upper manhattan (http://wahicats.org/default.aspx if anyone's curious/interested) and about 3 months ago we found a kitten in one of the alleys, all banged up and bloody. Luckily, she was FIV- and FLV- and survived whatever happened to her prior to her discovery so we've adopted her as she's VERY friendly and comfortable with humans. We've named her Satya - Sati for short:

I know absolutely nothing about cat breeds but this little girl's markings are so interesting I was wondering if anyone could tell me what kind of cat she is. Her fur is VERY soft, even for a cat - much more so than our other cat Elvis. She's kind of bowlegged when you look at her from the front and she's VERY VERY long. You can't quite tell from any of the photos but she's got some tan colorings all along her tummy where the white is. I think she looks almost like the bobcats I remember seeing in Vermont growing up - a very ancestral cat pattern...

Anyways any help appreciated!

It is kind of a hard call and maybe some breed experts will check in. She is super adorable. My cat Cleo is long and tall but his brother looks different. I always wonder about the mixes in their pasts that make them look the way they do.
I saw your site and I wanted to congratulate you on the excellent work you are doing.
