Driving down the road one day I was next to a byproduct truck (for those of you who don't know-they are just dump trucks used for transporting the parts, they have a tarp over the back so the mess doesn't fall out when the truck brakes) and it hit me like lightening "THAT MESS IS NOT REFRIGERATED!
" How on earth can they get away with transporting RAW MEAT (byproducts of course) for hours and hours un-refrigerated on the back of a dump truck for use in dog and cat food, heaven forbid OUR FOOD TOO! I know it was going to the pet food plant, cause it was organs (I saw an intestine hanging over the side
)

Maybe it wasn't for consumption.... but my gut tells me it is, everyone from here says "there goes the dog food truck." I am just... horrified. Millions of animals (and people, spam, bologna, ect) eat this crap, and on top of that who knows what kind of sicknesses they are getting from it traveling so far unchilled.

How do we stop this?

Found this while I was looking this up, it's more about mad cow though, but it does explain the process, and it's very graphic (words no pics) so don't read it if you have a sensitive stomach! http://www.mad-cow.org/~tom/render_ed.html Off to look for an answer to this...

Ok, back, and I coldn't find much of anything on Carolina By Products(thats the company)
Hrm... I suppose that I will just google by product companies in general.
