I have 5 foster kittens from the same litter. They're around 3 months or so. One kitten never seemed particularly small, but in the last 2 or 3 weeks I've noticed that the other kittens are getting bigger while she is smaller, thinner and bonier. She eats the same as the others. I've just started trying to fatten her up a bit by giving her extra cat-calorie paste and snacks. I am starting to be worried about her. Though she seems to be energetic, she looks slightly sickly to me. Do you think there's anything to be concerned about?

I would see the vet and check for worms, just as a starter.

There's no place like home
I had a litter of 3 orphans where 1 was half the size of the others. I had the vet check her out and she was given a clean bill of health (I still worried about her). As adults, the largest kitten (female) grew to the same size as her sister the runt (just shy of 7 pounds). The brother hit 18 pounds. The lesson is that the size at kitten hood doesn't always tell you their size in adulthood.

Yes, be concerned until a vet can check her out.

Thanks for the advice. They've all had issues with worms, I'm just not sure what could be different with her as opposed to the others, or if she's just naturally small at this age or what. She's not just thin, her whole body is significantly smaller than the others, including her head. Maybe I can call the vet and ask them if they think I should bring her in.

If worms are ruled out completely maybe something else could be causing some nutrition problems. Ask the vet what tests they can do to see if there's any malnutrition issues - and no, that wouldn't be your fault as there could be another issue going on.

My Oreo was half the size of the other kittens when I got her. She has fcks though. My Smokey that died at age 11 was between 4-5 pounds and the size of a 6 month old kitten. Some Cats are small. My Sasha turned out to be small but she was one of two kittens that lived. I would call the vet and see what they say.
