I don't know if you remember - last year a man named Jonathan Rosenberg was in the news. He was the guy that gave up his job and put all he
owned into building a cat sanctuary here in NJ.

THE DREAM
So I formulated a dream ... a dream of a sanctuary for cats. This would be a place of refuge and
shelter for cats that were temporarily unwanted and homeless. It would serve as a "last chance"
for cats, by accepting those cats that were on "death row" at other shelters and facilities.
In my dream, no cat would be euthanized unless it was suffering and there was no hope of recovery. The sanctuary would be a place where even cats that were "unadoptable" could live in comfort, with the care, attention and love they deserve. No cat would be refused due to age, illness or disposition. The sanctuary would gladly accept FIV+ cats and would have rooms devoted to their care.
The ultimate goal for each cat would be adoption into a loving home. But the sanctuary would be
designed so that cats could spend long periods of time there comfortably, awaiting adoption. In
fact, it would be designed so that a cat could spend years, or even its entire lifetime, at the
sanctuary. This meant that there would be no cages at the shelter. Instead, groups of cats would
live in large rooms, where they could roam and play without restraint.
And, of course, all of the cats would be given human attention and interaction, along with
high-quality food and on-site medical care.
