Okay..for my own sanity and for Buttons health I have made an appointment with the Vet and they asked me if I wanted to have x-ray's done to verify pregnancy and how many kittens there are.....Will having x-ray's possibly harm the kittens??? Or is it totally safe and recommended to do?? I do not have any problems with paying for whatever my girl needs, just want to make sure that it is a safe thing to do!!

Thanks!

Is it a Xray or Ultrasound? Coco had a Ultrasound and it showed 3 Kittens and that she was a month preg. I was told she would have about July 25 but she had Aug 1. They are safe to do. There was 5 kittens and 2 were dead male Calicos. How old is your Cat?

They said Xray, actually never even mentioned ultrasound. If they are safe to do, then I will get it done cause I'd like to know how many.
I got her in October - so 8 mths ago - and she was around 4-6 mths old when I took her. Thats estimation...but i am positive she is over a year..just not sure how much so.

With my last experience, I highly recommend an x-ray, the vet told me it is no harm at all to the babies. I had a pregnant cat and she went into labor but never delivered so I took her to the vet and had an x-ray done and it was only one very large kitten that had gotten stuck trying to come out. If we'd had an x-ray earlier, we'd have known it was 1 large kitten.
