2 humans + 4 kittys = a very full bed

Most nights are okay, we don't allow fussing & fighting on the bed, if that breaks out we get the spray bottle out or just put a cat on the floor. But now I can hold up & shake the spray bottle and everyone leaves the room. They are all very good kids.............

Simba was a "bouncy kitten" (kept jumping on my head), so I didn't let him sleep with me as a young cat, and so he never got in the habit (except for when I was depressed and he tried to make me feel better). But Murray has slept with me from the very beginning of our acquaintance, ever since the night he moved in with me. And I love his soothing presence and having him snuggle up with me. I miss him when I sleep away from home and he's not there!!

First, I must say I love the responses here so far and that most everyone sleeps with their kitties! Second, I must give my experiences. I grew up in a household where it was unacceptable to let the cats sleep in bed with us. That being said, they were indoor/outdoor cats, and in that situation I suppose I can understand the concern about diseases, etc. As soon as I got my own kitties, who are indoor only, I quickly realized I wanted them to sleep with me! Alex and Evie sleep with me every night, one between the wall and I and one at my head. After about 5 am, Alex (at my head) moves under the covers and in my arms literally like a teddy bear. That's one other argument against having kitties sleep with you; possible disturbance of your own sleep. At first it was a bit of a disturbance to me, but in no longer phases me. Finally, I know people who worry about it being a libido killer. I suppose I can see the argument there, but my boyfriend loves our cats as much as I do and that has never been a problem with us! Good luck with your kitties, and let me know how the door works if you put it in - I've been considering the same thing.

Our kittens are still pretty young (just over 9 weeks), so they still have "their own room" at night right now. I don't trust them running around the whole house at night yet! But even when they are old enough, I don't think they'll be sharing the bed with us, as my hubby does not approve of the idea. The bedroom is a "sacred place" so to speak, just for the two of us at night. I highly doubt we'll even let our kids come in at night, when we have them! But when I was a teenager, I had a cat who slept with me, at least for part of the night. I'd never even think it was potentially harmful in some way!

That's the way Murray is! It's really cute.

Ours are still confined to the laundry room until that becomes their "safe place," but after they have run of the house, I am hoping they'll sleep with us. They're still on "kitten time" right now and play at regular intervals throughout the night, but hopefully they'll adapt to our schedule.

Ours sleep wherever they like, a lot of the time with us. Tripod snuggles up to me and Oliver sleeps at (or on) my feet. Sometimes he walks up the length of me and sleeps right on my chest. I feel like he's purring right into my heart!

As a child, my Mom wasn't thrilled that my TimmyCat slept with me, but she finally gave up trying to stop him.
He would stay on my bed until I was asleep and then wait at the door for my Mom to let him out.

I trained Max to sleep with me at night. I got him at 3 mo. old and every few moments had to get up and get him, bring him back to bed and push him down. This lasted for about 2 months (I was very sleep deprived). Now he is 8 years old and definately knows when I say "Bedtime" that it is time to go to bed. He even races me there. LOL I can't imagine him not sleeping with him in the bed. Since he is an indoor cat only, I'm not worried about diseases.

If I sleep on my back, Murray likes to climb on my chest, too. It's really sweet.
