I've been feeding Wellness kitten canned and would like to throw in an occasional mix of Wellness adult, but want to know if doing so will be in any way harmful to the kittens. They are 3 months and are doing just fine on a mix of mostly canned Wellness and a bit of Orijen dry. Any information is appreciated.

Thanks!

Wellness canned is ALL stage in the "adult" formulas ( at least all the ones I have read ) so it is a NON issue..

Is that a fact? Well, that's interesting news. Thanks for the reply!

I looked into this same issue when mine were younger. They are 8 months old now, orphaned at a week old. I talked to our vet about feeding and then researched the ingredients. Vet said they would do fine with what I was feeding which was all the grain free Wellness canned and PetGuard canned (some flavors are listed all life stage). They liked it mixed with a little warm water to make a smoother texture. When they got to be close to 6 months old I would give dry Orijen a few kibbles like a treat. Now they get a small amount of Orijen at night and premium canned of various brands/flavors during day. They are healthy with beautiful soft coats.

That's weird, I have the exact same situation too. Any food that is of very good qaulity (like Wellness IMO) is fine for you kitten to eat as long as you also provide kitten food and they eat more of it.

My adult hates her Wellness (wet and dry), but the kitten loves it (raised on raw meat) so I let the kitten eat it because it's such a good food. If your kitten is eating at least some kitten food, you're doing better than me and my kitties. Today I started switching them to Avoderm dry because it is supposed to be good for adult/kittens and they like to eat out of the bowl together (pretty cute too). So is EVO, but it has a high ash content.

Avoderm dry is VERY corn filled
and overall very grainy
