Me and Tom are now up at my summer home and though he has been here before this is the first time he's been here when it was above 65 degrees and I let him out on the screened in porch. Well the property is surrounded by large pine trees and the porch is covered in a light to moderate coating of dust that the trees produce. Well with in two minutes tom was rolling in this dust. I had never seen a cat do this, he looked just like a dog rolling in the mud and sure enough he is now coated in this dust at well...every time I pick him up and start to pet him it looks like he is producing smoke from all the dust I am rubbing off. I am thinking that he might need a bath tonight but I know that he will just get dirty again tomorrow. And it is no use washing off the porch because the wind will just blow more dust in though the screens.

Cats enjoy a tumble and roll in dust. No need to bathe them. They clean themselves in no time.

Great point. Its just weird to see a cat rolling around like that, he will actually drag his neck along the ground just like a dog. But he also has taken about 50 baths since coming here so he is keeping himself clean.

Jamie likes to roll around in dust, etc., when I take him outside. I usually comb him with a fine-toothed comb after I bring him in, and let him take care of whatever I don't remove.
