So we all expected Davy or Calypso to lead the way in all physical mile stones, but Sao, the biggest of the babies, decided last night that he wanted to eat wet food!! They are 22 days today.

I don't know if he's done this before, but last night we seen him find and pig out on the wet food we put out for mommy. I was really suprised, because the research I've done says that they shouldn't even be interested until 4 weeks at the earliest. And I mean, he LOVED this stuff. He was eating it like my dog does- just vacuuming it up!

We ended up stopping him because we were worried that he'd eat too much too quickly and make himself sick. Is that something you have to worry about with kittens just getting weaned? Can their little tummies handle it?

The other guys are interested in the wet food- especially when it's on my fingers. They are starting to get their milk teeth and haven't learned that "eating" my fingers HURTS!
But they don't eat it off the plate like Sao. And they all like the water. They stick their little noses in, then sneeze, then lick their noses to get the water off. Not sure they're drinking, but they sure love doing that!

We are thinking that since it's too early, we will put the food somewhere that wobbly-kins can't get to it for a bit. I'm worried that since mommy isn't eating much making the food less accessible will hamper that, but I don't want the kiddos sick or getting pneumonia from putting their noses in the water!

Any one else have piggy little 3 week olds that stuff themselves on wet food?

Saffron and Sachi were eating wet like pros pretty young. They love it. I would let them eat it. I would water it down some and let them since their mother abandoned them.
