I ordered the small trial bag (I think it is 2 lbs) from Pet Food Direct, but it hasn't arrived yet. I am going to let the gang try that, Felidae and Solid Gold and see which they like the best.

I always have liked the look of this food. But I have never seen it anywhere except for petfooddirect, and I simply can't afford to buy online. It looks to be a food I would consider feeding my gang, and knowing me that says a lot.

I know some ferret parents who feed it! As ferrets are also high in meat needs, it's a great food for that.

Wanted to ask if anyone tried this new food yet? Also what you thought of it?
I've been feeding it for a little over a month now. So far they all seem to be doing quite well on it.

A lot of the high quality cat foods out there, are perfectly acceptable for both kittens and adult cats. This food is actually better then a lot of the designated "kitten" foods out there on the market.

Ingredients : Chicken, Salmon, chicken meal, whole grain brown rice, chicken fat (preserved with mixed tocopherols), oatmeal, whole grain white rice, potatoes, cracked pearled barley, millet, turkey, duck, flaxseed, natural chicken flavor, salt, choline chloride, chicory root extract, dl-methionine, potassium chloride, taurine, carrots, peas, apples, dried skim milk, kelp, cranberry powder, rosemary, parsley flake. Vitamins and minerals.

It's Naturally preserved, which I like...

Crude Protein (Min) 30%
Crude Fat (Min) 20%
Moisture (Max) 10%
Omega-6 Fatty Acids (Min) 3.4%
Crude Fiber (Max) 3%
Omega-3 Fatty Acids (Min) 0.6%
Magnesium (Max) 0.1%
Taurine (Min) 0.1%

On the bag its states ".For kittens or nursing adult cats we recommend free-choice feeding " and "Animal feeding tests using Association of American Feed Control Officials precedures substantiate that Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover's Soul Adult Cat Formula provides complete and balanced nutrition for all life stages ." so my guess would be yes..it is fine to feed to kittens as well.

Just got the 1 lb trial size bag today and let the kitties try it.

Max licked the inside of her bowl clean. Literally. I have never seen them lick a bowl for anything but tuna.

It went over very well, all 11 ate it and sat licking their lips afterwards. They still have to try Felidae and Solid Gold before we decided which one we'll switch to, but so far this rates 4 paws up from each cat!
