Hey,

I am buying my kitty Church a new ID tag. I am planning to get a collartag (nameplate) from Boomerang because recently Church caught his hanging tag on my sugar gliders' cage and that really scared me. The kittens like to jump up and lay on top of the cage (it has a fleece covering and the sugar gliders don't mind). One morning I realized Church didn't have his collar on. I started looking around the bedroom for it, then for some reason I looked up-- and there it was, hanging off the sugar glider cage near the top! Luckily he wears a breakaway collar! I think he must have leaned his head down to watch the sugar gliders and gotten his bone-shaped tag stuck in the bars so when he tried to lift his head back up the collar came off.

So anyway because of this I want to get a 'collartag' so there won't be anything hanging off the collar to get caught. My problem is I am not sure what I should include on the tag. I think it allows for 4 lines of 14 characters each. I think I should put my home and cell numbers but I can't decide what else to include.
Should I have my address on there? My name? His name? No names? Email address? Maybe instead of a name should I put "If found call" or "I am lost" or "reward if found" or something like that? Any advice is appeciated!

I just have my mobile number on their tags, because really that's all they need to know. Their chipped anyway so if they got scanned, my name, the cats name, and our address are on file.

For my boys' tags, Each has their name, my cell and my home number on one side and "indoor only cat" on the other. Zek lost his collar in my house a few weeks ago, and I can't figure out where he lost it, so I'm going to have to buy a new tag soon too. His new one won't have a name--I figure I'll probably find the old one and then the new one can be the back-up for future collar losses or future cats.
I like the "I'm lost" idea. I would be a little wary of putting Reward on the collar as some unscrupulous person might decide that taking the cat is a good way to make money or something. I considered putting an email address on mine, but it was too long to fit.

Current cats are collarless, but in the past I had the cats name, our phone number and 'if I'm outside I'm lost' on the back as they were indoor cats.

My baby's ID has her name(Ku Ku) & my home phone # on it. She's microchipped but does not have the info on it yet.

I am actually thinking about switching it to a one from the microchip company, so it'd be identical that she's microchipped

Yeah, that is the tag I am planning to buy.

Ok now I am even less sure what to put on the tag because I forgot about his microchip! Should I put his microchip number too, or maybe put "Microchipped" or "AVID Microchip" where the name would go??

You could do:
Name
Phone #
"Avid Microchip"
"Indoor Cat" (or however you want to word that)

I never bothered to put the microchip number on the tag--I figure if they have the tag on, people will be more likely to call the phone number than to take the cat to the vet. If they go to the vet to check for the microchip, then it's probably because the collar fell off.

Ginger and Ferris' collar tags each read their name, then my cell #, then the vet's phone #.

That's it, keeping it simple.

The bengals just got microchipped last week, because they refuse to wear collars, and I laughed when the vet's office handed me collar tags that say to scan for a chip.
