strange behavior... im worried!

suddenly tonite my cat starting acting VERY ODD... he keeps lower his head, flattening his ears and blinkin...as though someone just patted him on the head... hard to explain. but he keeps doin it over an over.. im afraid...well i dont know! does he have a headache...is something in his ears...does he have a brain tumor? its 8pm and an emergency vet would be very expensive...

what do i do...
im really freaking out...

That dosent sound good at all. How much is the Er there?

You can always just call the animal hospital and ask them for advice, the people who answer the phones are pretty knowledgeable as far as letting you know what is an emergency (at least this has been my experience)

Sounds to me like the preliminaries of coughing up a hairball, maybe?

well this morning he seems to be ok but i wasnt awake long enough before leavin to work to really watch him. i'll check on him at lunch but im still a little worried.
