Aww pretty Lilly...

And the orange boy is very handsome. You have such beautiful kitties hanging around by you! Is that Sherbert hiding behind him in that last picture?

Is the new orange guy striped? It looks like he is solid orange, which I haven't ever seen before. All of the orange cats I have seen have been tabbies.

Is he still coming around? Any names for him yet?

Princess Purr, I should probably be asking this question in the Feral Colonies forum, because the Cat Lounge is more for the fun stuff, but how many cats/kittens do you put food out for these days? Have you had a chance to speak to anyone in the Vet's office to find out if they know of any local resources to help trap, vaccinate and spay/neuter "your" gang out there?

I'm still waiting for a response on whether there is a mobile unit available.... just thought the Vet might immediately know....

CUTE PICS, BTW! "Your" orange kitty looks SO MUCH like Julius (a feral kitty we found a home for).

I LOVE orange kitties!!!! (...and I gotta say, Lilly looks a lot like Spooky!)

How many cats am i feeding...that is a very good question. I know i'm feeding, lilly ashton and shebert so that is three, then and the orange guy, 4 and then i have seen a white cat but I don't know if he eats at my house so maybe 5 outside. And snowwhite side so six  And of course moemoe and neo...but they don't know they are cats, they think they are people

moemoe's eyes been runny so we are running him to the vet tonight. I'm going to ask him about all my little monsters! I'm not taking snowwhite in because she has been panting off and on and laying on her side. So i think she is going in to labor! I don't want ot move her but i'm going to ask the vet about her when we are there and make sure i can bring her in right way if there are any problems.
When animal control dropped nanook off at home i asked them and they said there is a moble spay thing at our local aspca in may!!! I just hope that is not to late. So i'm emailing them and find out what they can do.

I just wanted to post for the benefit of other members.... Princess Purr and I have been chatting offline about spay/neuter options and resources.

The mobile spay/neuter units are FABULOUS, but it's a shame when they have so much work to do that they can only work on a schedule. May is so far away.... and the probability is just so high that Lilly will get pregnant by waiting another few months....
Where she lives has a statewide low-cost spay/neuter program, so she's going to see if that's an option!

YOU GO GIRL!!!!!

...and I'm going to dig up a pic of Julius for you, Princess Purr. And I think Leo is a great name for your new orange visitor!

Here's a pic of Juli - he's got white under his chin, on his paws, and that cute circle around his mouth. But he's not dark orange like your new visitor. Juli's orange is kind of gingery. There are a few darker stripey things on Juli's forehead, but that's it - he's just solid ginger/orange.

His story is sad... but has a happy ending!!! He was part of the litter of kitties that turned up in our yard last summer. He was HUGE - at least twice as big as the other kitties! (And Spooky was the runt
). He was such a shy boy. We adopted Lazlo and Shelly, but continued feeding Spooky, Julius and Tuxedo while we tried to find them homes. We had all the outside cats spayed and neutered when they were old enough. We found a home for Julius and Spooky late fall (it was sooooo cold here! But we built condos for them insulated and wrapped with heat tape...). Gary had a "bad" feeling about their new parents, so we made arrangements for a visit - and it was a terrible home, and it looked like the kitties were neglected, if not abused - because we couldn't even find the cats.
We insisted on having them back. To make a long story short, we got Spooky first and then Juli. I don't want to go into details, but they'd apparently left Juli in a crate for several days.... he had to have his back end completely shaved.
And Spooky was covered with cuts on her head - obviously from trying to hide in their open heat vents... The Vet helped us press charges (NJ has strict laws) with the SPCA (which have police powers). We took Spooky in, and re-released Juli outside. Within a few days, he was back to his love-bug self. But late this Winter when we started getting paid again at work (*phew*), we just couldn't take watching them outside anymore. (They'd been joined be several more kitties that turned up, and we had several adopted out - successfully :tounge2: ), but there were still three outside. So we put them in boarding. They made a stop at the Vet's first... and the Vet assistant that helped with the SPCA and who had fallen in love with Juli had had one of her cats pass away (he was 17 years old), so the timing was perfect, and she adopted Juli!
