What color?

These are two of my newest foster kittens. Mom was a silver classic tabby and dad was unknown.

Both appear black at first but have tabby stripes which I know are visible on a lot of black cats. Under the black is white roots. So would that be smoke? They said they were solid black at birth and have lightened to these colors as they got older.

Not the best pics, they're very scared and wouldn't cooperate much. I had to take them outside for better lighting.

Oh, wow, they're gorgeous... and soooo scared! The second one has scared "Yoda" ears!

What color are the roots? Looks black to me!

Looking at the faces, the first one looks black solid ghosting classic, it will fade as he gets older.
The second one has the the silver in the face and looks smoke.

I don't know if she still has this little one, but it would be interesting to see how her color has changed as she got older. momma was a sliver tabby I believe as well.

The roots are all completely white on them both.

aww they are soo sweet..that 2nd one definately looks very scared...

oh my gosh, they are so adorable!! I'm not sure on the first one, but that second one is definitely a smoke. good gravy I want a smoke so bad!!! I'm guessing they're not leukemia positive good for them, bad for me
