I did a lot of research, and for the price I went with a hatchback Toyota Yaris. They said it got 35 mpg's, but I have clocked it @ 42 miles to the gallon. On average I get about 38, I do have a bit of a lead foot.
Needless to say that I am feeling like the smartest person on the block, freeway and gas station.
I don't like people who drive in the fast lane if they are not passing anyone when on the freeway. People really need to check their rearview mirrors more often. I hate clogs of traffic and no one should ever being driving parallel to someone else. Break the clog! When I do see someone in a big ole truck speeding away I just laugh. They will pay for it.
Just wait till you have to replace a battery in those hybrid puppies! got a extra $6,000 in your pocket? If not, then your happy lil car aint movin, lol.
I have a 1995 Chrysler Sebring Lxi, and i get about 30mpg or so, and thats with a high end V-6. I DO like to be a tad leadfootish on the backroads when im going to my fave fishing hole, but on the highway i will stick on the cruise at about 4-5 miles over the limit.
i USED to be really bad when gas was .85 cents a gal ( about 9-8 years ago). I would drive 100 in a 65 just cause i could, lol. I was ALWAYS in control tho, and have had racecar handling instruction, so i was never a hazard. I dont much go over the speed limit now, if i do its only by 5mph.
