DH and I are going to Ohio next week for a TCS meetup. I think we are going to stay the night there, maybe two. Now I'm worrying how Popsie will get fed. He has dry food but he won't eat in anymore. He'll only eat wet and he wants fed every few hours. I could have my Mom stop over and feed him but she won't come over every few hours. I don't know what to do. Any suggestions?

With him being a senior kitty and not having anyone to help, I wouldnt go. He cannot go without eating and if he will only eat wet I think thats really your only option, unless you can get someone to feed him.

I'm sure my Mom would do it but she'd probably only stop out twice in a day.

Why dont you just start feeding him twice a day until then and see how he does with that?

Is there anyone you can get you trust to stay in home to feed him often?

I feel your pain, I'm going to be gone 3-4 days to fly PJ & Punky to sharky. Mom's already having a panick attack she'll "screw up your babies".

Hmm there's an idea. I guess DH and I could go and not stay the night but it's a four hour drive. That would be eight hours in one day!!!!! Maybe he could drive there and I could drive back, that wouldn't be so bad. Then my Mom could just stop by a few times that day to feed Popsie. Sigh, I'll have to talk to DH about it.

I hope you can work something out. It is a long drive and DH and I are lucky that his parents are half way so we're going to stay with them for the weekend. Fortunately Frankie isn't so picky that she won't eat dry food for a weekend.

What about taking him with you? There are kitty-friendly hotels out there. I just stayed in one with my boys Thursday night before I moved to St. Louis. It was only 10 dollars extra a night at the one I stayed at (okay, so I told them I only had one).

I would imagine he'd be fine if she comes a couple times a day. If she comes in the morning and gives a good amount of wet food (I have heard varying opinions on this, but I usually leave the wet food out when I leave for work...I've noticed my kittens don't touch it once it gets crusty and gross looking anyway, so at least they have a couple hours to eat it) and again in the evening, he should have enough. If he can have dry food, there's no harm in leaving it out...if he's hungry and no one is there to give him his wet, he might eat it.

I'm dreading the day I'll have to leave my babies alone for a night or two!

Popsie's the same. If the food gets dried out and yucky he won't eat it.
