Wow you are good

In order:

1. Grasshopper
2. Pill bug (they roll into a ball when scared)
3. Fly
4. Yellow jacket

Yeh I did scare them
, they both ran off arm in arm, in arm, in arm, in arm. The baby grasshopper was the smallest at around 5mm. I need to practice a lot more yet and as usual spend more money if I am to achieve the standard of some people. But hey I thought they came out ok
One more before the rain came.

WOW!!!! Amazing pics... and yes, I think you disturbed some pillbug summer love!!! So, you guys call pill bugs woodlice? Interesting... they also called
"roly polys" here. Makes me think of the pill bug acrobats in the movie "A Bug's Life."

Wasn't it fun?!
But it can be difficult setting up the camera and then the bug moves out of shot/focus! I love macro, but didn't have a dedicated macro lens for my camera. Here's a few pics from my past:

A dragonfly that was just born. Its wings were drying off and forming when I took this pic. They looked like crystal.

I just purchased a macro lens on the internet today. Once I get it I'll be running after all the small creatures like you did today.

Watch out bugs, here I come.

Nice shots Russian Blue, I am not sure if I should go with a macro or try a set of bellows, which macro lens did you go for?

Ok, I have to ask. What are bellows? I`m trying to learn about photography but it`s all so confusing!

Well jaffacake bellows are a device that lets you add the lens on the end and wind it in as close as possible, it is even possible to reverse the lens back to front. Mind you stunning results can be achieved using a good quality macro lens. Just do a search for macro insects in google pictures and view the full size images, these people know their stuff

I purchased the Canon 100mm f/2.8. I've been waiting a year for this lens so I'm really excited.

LOL! I dont blame you to be excited I have seen that lens mentioned quite a few times on a forum I visit and it has had nothing but positive comments. I think if i was to get one later that would be the one, I could not justify an MPE-65 to the wife
Look forward to seeing some of your results.
