I can't be the only one this happens to. Anyone else have some Petfinder-induced moments of longing? Here's mine.
Every now and then when I'm bored I make the mistake of looking at Petfinder. My current position in terms of adopting more animals is no more until I'm in a graduate program. I'm done with college, working full time, but I know I'm going to be moving around a lot in the next few years, and I'm hoping to start an MA or PhD program. Also, ideally, no more animals until I have more space and/or have at least a small yard. My BF and I have two cats and we live in a NYC apartment.* We have more room than a lot of people our age, but it is Manhattan after all.
And then I see this guy: http://www.petfinder.com/petnote/dis...petid=10989801
I know it's just a picture and a short description, but I feel like I can get a good sense of his personality and he just seems fantastic. Exactly what I've always wanted in a dog. We got the first of our cats about a year and a half ago when I was doing some similar surfing (yes, it's a bad habit). I saw her listing and just knew she was the perfect cat for us. I was totally right. That's the same feeling I get from this dog.
It's driving me bonkers because it's just not the right time. I know I would give him a great life, but there are other things I should be spending my time on.
So who else does this sort of thing?
*(Honestly, I don't see the problem with having big dogs in urban environments as long as the owners have the appropriate level of dedication. There are so many dog parks around. I helped raise my mom's 75 lb English Shepherd mix. She goes to the run twice a day, plays with loads of dogs, and gets two other walks daily.)
