Saffron and Sachi, my two 7 week old rescues have taken it upon themselves to start escaping from their room. At first it was cute. Now it is just annoying. I go into feed them and they try to escape every time. If I lived in a small apartment it would not be so annoying but in a house with stairs...with my health problems...chasing a lightening fast kitten...Ugh.
It is exasperating when you have small kittens bent on escape every time you open the door. I feel like I need a net or something. It is not as if I don't bring them out a lot. I do. But racing after two is just too much. I am not used to kittens this small. My boys were 12 weeks when they came and totally uninterested in escaping.
Anyway, Cleo and Seldon are my partners in chase. Seldon tries to body block them from getting out, Cleo chases them down so that I know where they are and Mary tackles them frequently. They seem to know that the kittens belong in their own room. Seldon will even chase them back to their door. I even saw them work as a group to keep them blocked in another room so they couldn't get out. Instead they run from furniture to furniture to hide underneath darting back and forth until I lunge and grab.
Without my little helpers I would never have been able to find them much less get back into their room.

You have a special pair there. They help out a lot. Keeping you safe from the Barbies, making sure the poop is covered, and now kitten keepers.

Well done.

That's what happens with Luna every darn time we open the door to our bedroom. She just slides under me and makes a run for it. It's fun most of the time to chase her around as she definitely enjoys it.
However not so much at 5:00am...
. Hence why I feel sleepy, groggy and just stressed today morning...Need another tea. *sighs*

That is what the (Toodlebabies) my grand daughter's kits will do. She has decided she wants to keep one and share the other with nice people when they don't their mommy any more. They are letting her choose, and wouldn't you know, she picked the ringleader and the smartest of the bunch.

Boy, I could use a couple of kitten-herding older cats around here right now, too! We have a manufactured home with a 2 inch high space under every door for ventilation. This won't be a problem when the kitties are older, but right now they can squeeze under every door in the house! So if I want to keep them in or out of a particular place I have to tape cardboard to the bottom of the door. I'm glad you have such smart cats to help you out!)

You must definately be the alpha mommy in your house if they follow your lead like that!

I think I am! I never realized it before but it is true. I am never lonely with them because they talk to me constantly. Whatever room I am in, they are in.
They still amaze me everyday. Never underestimate their intelligence because cats are definitely smart.
