Hi there
I just had to log on to this forum to get some feedback/advice - my kitty is 20 years old and she's beautiful. Recently, I noticed that my pretty kitty has a nail growing from her tail - is this normal? This is a serious question.
Please advise???

Those with more experience will be able to give you better advice, but I have never heard of a nail growing from a tail!

Are you sure it is a nail? I noticed recently that Belle had what looked like the tip of a nail pertruding from two of her paw pads. When I asked the vet about it yesterday, he described them as "corns" and "excess skin." I have no idea if it is the same thing, but they sure looked like nails!

In any regard, I would guess that if your cat has anything new growing from his tail, a consultation with the vet would be a good idea!

I'm assuming you mean something that resembles a claw. No, it's not a normal occurence--I would definitely consult with a vet.
