Congratulations to Ken Griffey Jr. hit his 600th career home run earlier this evening against Florida Marlins pitcher Mark Hendrickson. What makes it even sweeter is that he did it without any of the controversy that has followed Bonds, McGuire and the others involved in the steroid issue surrounding MLB. He's the sixth player in MLB history to reach the milestone.

Way to go, Junior!!

The sad thing is that if he didn't have the misfortune of spending what feels like half his career on the DL, he would retire as the HR king. And I think that 99.9% of baseball fans would feel a lot better about that than they do about the current HR champ who blatantly cheated his way to the top. And who, unlike Junior, is utterly unlikeable. Really, how many other professional athletes can you name who are/were more despised by the general public than Barry Bonds?
