Hi - I am in the process of selling my house and will probably be moving within the next few weeks. I also happen to have a vacation scheduled soon after I would probably be ready to move. Like, the following week. But I am wondering whether it might be too traumatic to my cat to move to a new apartment, then have him left alone (except for daily pet-sitter visits) for a week in a new environment. Should I either delay the move or the vacation, so Murray only has to adjust to one upheaval at a time?

I would not move and then turn around and go on vacation. If the "vacation" was one where you stay at home, then that is fine (combine the two together).

You're right - I decided to postpone my vacation by several weeks to give Murray a chance to adjust to his new surroundings. (I'm going out of town for the vacation.) I'm probably now going to move about a month before I go on vacation, rather than a week. That should give him plenty of time, especially since he has been through a move before and adjusted well to it.
