Cats and baby powder?

Does anyone know whether talcum powder is harmful to cats? And if it's a matter of quantity, how much is too much?

Yes - it can be over long periods of time. This is from a show standard. Lots of Persian people use powders. It was found that prolonged use of talc was causing respirtory problems. Many Persian people switch to CORNSTARCH baby powder and found it was no problems associated with using it.

That is why when I mention about using baby powder on cats to use CORNSTARCH. We don't even have talc powder anymore - I only buy the cornstarch powder for any use on the cats (and its better for people too)
