I don't know what to try next. Both Matilda and Chloe chew on electrical cords. Right now they are in a room where everything is unplugged. We tried the Bitter Apple Spray on the cords (the stuff made for dogs, Chloe licked it up), loud noises when we catch them doing it (which is rare anyway), and I give them lots of stuff to chew on (straws, etc.). Matilda isn't teething and I don't think Chloe even is anymore either (she's almost 10 months old).

What is left? It really worries me. I don't want them to kill themselves.

If the Bitter Apple didn't work, you may have to get those phone cord protectors - they are a hard plastic tube that you run the wires thru.

Maui is 2 and she isnt as bad as she was. She has eaten everything! 2 modem power cables, the cord to my blinds, 3 phone chargers, hair dryer and tons of other items including underwear! She has toned down a lot, i still catching her doing it. I have no idea how to get it to stop. Just that she is slowing growing out of it. I heard they sell cord protectors. I wish you luck!

My Max is so terrible about this and nothing worked. Bitter apple was a joke for Max, he loved the stuff.

We ended up using zip ties on the cords and wrapping them in small bundles and getting them off the ground.

Bitter apple is useless. It only deters so long as it's damp. The only think I've found effective is wire protectors. Probably the easiest to use is spiral wrap, which you can find at Radio Shack.

I have peppermint oil, I got it off Drug Store.com. I put it on things I don't want the kids to chew, my bed frame, carpet, wires, and after I use it once or twice , they stop. You may try it. I was thinking of a little vicks chest rub if the oil did not work. I keep the oil for myself, stiff knees and all.

Makes the room fresh!!

Same here. I was also told that toothpaste works on that for the same reason but my cat LOVES the smell of toothpaste. So I guess it does not work either. I've tried pretty much everything - from bitter apple to zip ties, none worked. She also loves chewing zip ties as well, that's one of her favorite toys.

My baby gets freaked out of hearing or seeing aluminum foil - I've wrapped around those wires & codes with aluminum foil wherever exposed on carpet or anywhere within a reach of my baby - so far, seems she's staying away from them. For other places such as under computer desk, back of entertainment center, or between furniture, I put cardboard barricades & completely blocked entry & the view from her. So far, so good

I noticed my new furbabies playing with some of our electrical cords, too. I had heard about the aluminum foil thing, so I wrapped them tightly in that and haven't seen them playing with the cords since. I also taped some sheets of foil to the carpet where Maggie wanted to go potty...she doesn't even want to touch the foil, let alone walk on it! Hope that the foil trick works for you too!
